There are 3 different types of MEMBERSHIPS.

You want to use the Safe Blood Donation member database – blood matchmaking, namely as donor and recipient (the variant selected by default in the “Type of membership” field), or only as recipient if you cannot or do not want to donate blood. You will find the costs and variants of membership in the next chapter “Costs”.
You only want to donate blood, but not receive any. This variant is free of charge. (In this case, select the second variant in the “Type of membership” field: donate blood only)
You are a medical service provider, e.g. a clinic, doctor, therapist, insurance company or similar, and would like to offer your service on the website under Search medical facilities. In this case, select the variant “medical partner”. After your registration, i.e. after your entry has been activated by our team, every user of the website can search all your information.

If you also want to register as a personal member at the same time, please select one of the first 2 membership variants first and complete the registration as a personal member. Afterwards, still logged in, go back to the Become a member page, where you will now find the black button “I would also like to register as a medical partner”. Press it and fill in the fields.
You do not want to become a member at all, but you like our cause and would like to support us financially – then you will find all information under Donate.

COSTS FOR PRIVATE PERSONS

You can either transfer your membership fee every year (A), or opt for a lifetime membership (B), with a one-time payment (see below).

A) Annual membership fee:
The price for a membership at SafeBlood is 50 EURO/CHF per year per adult member, billed per calendar year. Children and young people up to 18 years or still in education are free.

If you only want to be a donor, you can obtain a free membership as mentioned above. In this case, select “donate blood only”, fill in all required fields, and when you reach the “Donor / Recipient” field on the 2nd page, select “donor only”. After saving your entries you are done – you simply skip the payment and are registered as a free member.

If you would like to become a member but cannot afford it, send us an email and apply for a free or reduced membership. We are aware that there are cases where this is necessary.

B) Lifetime membership:
With a one-time contribution of 1’000 CHF/USD/EURO you will be a member for your entire life and do not have to worry about annual payments. If you choose this variant, simply transfer the corresponding amount and state “Lifetime membership” as payment reason.

Special conditions: We only offer individual memberships (since we have to record all your blood-related data individually), but children and young people up to 18 years do not pay anything at all. A family is therefore based on the fee for the number of adults. However, we record you both as an individual and as a family when you register. You first register yourself, and after successfully saving your data you add further family members (under “Add family members”).

COSTS MEDICAL SERVICE PROVIDERS / COMPANY

Membership as a Medical Partner costs

250 EURO/CHF/USD per year for clinics/hospitals
100 EURO/CHF/USD per year for therapists/medical practices etc.
200 EURO/CHF/USD for insurance companies and other service providers.

As an introductory offer, we currently offer a membership as a medical partner for the first year completely free of charge.

PROCEDURE
You fill in the form (on PC on the right – on mobile phone further down) and will become a member directly afterwards. You will be guided to the members area, where you can enter the further required data with the field “edit” (on computer on the right, on mobile phone at the bottom). Due to the nature of our cause, these are quite extensive, but we guarantee full confidentiality. We do not pass on your data to anyone at any time. If you do not want to or cannot fill in individual fields, simply leave them empty. After the last field, press “Save entry“. You will then return to the beginning of the page and please briefly go through all fields again. Finally, upload (only if you register as a private person, not necessary for Medical Partners) a copy of your ID card at the very bottom (on computer) or take a photo (mobile phone or tablet) and insert it – “select“, then “upload“. Once again “Save entry” and you are done. Please note that it is sufficient to upload only the first page of your ID card. Your ID will be deleted after validation by our staff, and instead of the ID you will then see the word “validated”.

With “back to list” you return to “My access“, the starting point, where you can either add family members or scroll all the way down to pay the membership fee via bank transfer or credit card.

We strongly recommend not using your mobile phone for membership registration, but at least a tablet, ideally a computer. It is much clearer there and much easier. You will especially appreciate this if you want to register an entire family.

General Terms and Conditions

By registering as a member of SafeBlood Donation, I acknowledge the following:

I agree that my information may be used by SafeBlood Donation to find a suitable blood donor. In return, SafeBlood Donation agrees never to disclose this information to any third party. Names will only be revealed and communicated at the time a donor and recipient are matched in person.

In the case of a referral, the Safeblood system finds a suitable donor through the website and sends the recipient the contact details of 4-5 matches. The recipient then contacts them to arrange the process and location of the donation. I agree that in the event of a Safeblood referral, my contact information will be shared with the recipient and they may contact me directly.

I release potential donors, recipients, involved medical institutions and SafeBlood Donation as an intermediary from any liability.

I fill out all fields correctly when entering my information. I am aware that false information, especially regarding my vaccination status and personal details, is misleading and may result not only in immediate expulsion from the association, but also in criminal prosecution. It is as important to me as it is to any other potential recipient to have absolute certainty that only blood from unvaccinated members will be provided here.

I am aware that I can also subsequently update fields at any time to keep them current. For example, if I don’t know my blood type at the time of registration, I can still register and add it later. However, the functioning of the blood donor matching service relies on the correct indication of blood groups by all members, because this is the only way I can easily find a blood donor for my blood group at any time under “Find a blood donor”. Likewise, my address must be entered correctly for this purpose (street, no., postal code, city, state/district), country. Otherwise the operator system is not able to localize me.

During registration, after accepting these general conditions, I can choose to be a donor only, a recipient only or both (default). Not everyone wants to or can donate blood (for health reasons), but everyone is eligible to receive blood unless they choose the free “donor only” option.

I accept blood donors referred by SafeBlood Donation and in return (subject to health reasons) make myself available as a blood donor if I am also registered as a donor. If I am called upon to donate blood, if able to do so I will travel to the recipient’s location as quickly as possible within the bounds of what is possible and reasonable. I will not receive any compensation for this – but the recipient will cover the expenses.

After you have pressed “Register”, you will be taken to the next page, where you can directly enter all other information about yourself (or your company, for Medical Partners) that we need to complete your membership. For private persons, this includes e.g. date of birth, address, phone number, blood group etc. – do not leave this page without filling in the mandatory fields. If this page does not load automatically, go to https://safeblood.net/profile/, click on the black “edit” button under “Data” and fill in.

You are only a member once you have completed the details on the next page with “Save entry”.
Entries with an empty “Date of birth” field will be deleted by the system within one week.
